VTech V Smile – is an educational console system of the sixth generation released in August 4, 2004 by VTech, for children from 3 to 9 years old, which has received numerous awards in many countries. Carefully designed programs that comply with all ethical standards for the development and education of children of different ages, allow parents to not be afraid to leave their kids alone with the TV. The kid can play with friends, because you can connect two joysticks to the console suitable for both right- and left-handers. The console also has a feature “Karaoke”, so the child will be able, using a microphone to sing along to songs with favorite characters from cartoons. V Smile console can be powered by batteries or from power socket. The console has a slot where games cartridges can be stored for easy transportation.
- Simply put, Retrode fan crazy2001 has been hard at work to bring support for the V.Smile series of learning consoles (V.Smile, V.Smile Motion and V.Smile Baby) to the Retrode. Wiring and notes about this plugin are available HERE.
- The accelerometer-based V.Smile Motion controller is not emulated, but the software can all be used with the standard V.Smile joystick controller. Another pair of systems with inputs that now work is the original Macintosh (128K/512K/512Ke) and Macintosh Plus.
- The V.Smile is a game system with an educational twist, the system is built for children 3-7 years old. Titles come on ROM cartridges, which during a brain storming session by VTech employees became known as 'smartridges'.just in case the user did not understand that titles were meant to have educational value. The system has simple large buttons for control to accommodate a child's.
With the help of VTech V Smile children can learn letters, how to spell them, new words, learn how to count build words from letters and construct sentences. The main objective of the console is to develop memory, logic, fine motor skills and associative thinking, creativity and sense of rhythm, moreover to teach children how to read and make their own decisions. Games for V Smile are released on ROM cartridges called “Smartridges”.
If you want to test some games before buying the console you can do so by downloading for free an emulation software and VTech V Smile roms games.
